It’s finally here, we’re into the new season with a win and a decent performance.

It’s been a long boring summer but the wait is finally over for football fans across the country.

At Plainmoor there was a bumper crowd of over 4000 supporters, although Chesterfield did bring 1500 of those down the M5.

Torquay were lucky at times to overcome Chesterfield, but a win is a win.

For more information on the game read the match report.

Also this week, Kieran Charnock changed his mind and decided to join the Gulls after being prompted by Director of Football at Peterborough, Barry Fry.

The debacle of the replica Torquay football shirts continues this week after the club announced that there will be another delay with them reaching the shops. They may not even be on sale until Torquay’s game on the 22nd August.

We look forward to the game against Crystal Palace this coming week on Tuesday and the pre-match report will be on the site before the game.

Torquay also made the headlines after the coverage of the game on Saturday on the Football League Show was interrupted after a cock-up by the BBC.
This may have been a let off for Gulls fans as it was only footage of Chesterfield’s attempts which were lost from the show.

Thanks for reading and please post any responses. I love hearing your views.
