Ade Azeez has returned early to Charlton Athletic for treatment after he picked up a hamstring injury in the game against Plymouth Argyle.

Manager Alan Knill explained that it was desperately unlucky for the player who hadn’t been on the pitch for long at all before feeling a twinge in his leg, but unfortunately hamstring issues seem to have followed the young lad around in his development so far.

It’s not a bad injury and it should only see him sidelined for around three to four weeks, but obviously that would see him past his spell with us, so it makes more sense for him to return to familiar ground for treatment.

Knill was hopeful of being able to add somebody else to our ranks ahead of the close of the loan window at 5pm tonight…but as of yet there is no confirmation that he was able to do so.

In better news Billy Bodin has now returned to training for the first time since picking up his knee injury in the game against Burton last October.

He will obviously under go a late fitness test ahead of the game against Scunthorpe as obviously nobody wants to risk a breakdown or further complications in his recovery.

Ben Harding however is definitely still out of contention as he will spend a further week in a protective boot to clear up his foot problem.
