Alan Knill, ahead of the game against Burton, brought in a new loan signing. West Ham striker Paul McCallum has joined us for a month.

He’s described as a powerful and young forward who has previously tasted league life with loan spells at Aldershot and Wimbledon last season, and he went straight into the squad for the Burton game, making his debut for the club shortly before half time as a replacement for the injured Billy Bodin.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the midweek game, Knillsaid that he hoped that McCallum would prove to be the missing piece once he adjusted to life at the club and give us an alternative option up front.

‘Paul is something different, he scored goals for Aldershot and Wimbledon, and actually scored here for Wimbledon, and we’re very thankful to West Ham for letting him out.’

Alan Knill also confirmed to the press following the game against Burton, that Charlton loanee Ade Azeez will be extending his spell with us for another month as his initial spell runs out following the Portsmouth game.

The manager said that he’d already spoken to Charlton about it and they were more than happy for him to stay, which pleased him because he absolutely wants to keep him.
