With Callum Ball getting of the mark in our last match against Cheltenham, he’s said he’s delighted to have finally broke his duck and he’s looking for far more goals now in the coming weeks.

Speaking to the Official Site following his brace in our last game, Ball said it may have taken him ten games to get off the mark since he joined us from Derby County on loan, but he’s delighted he has now found the back of the net and with the pressure off and confidence high, he’s looking to build on that.

‘It’s good to get my first two goals for Torquay and it has been coming. I’ve had chances, hit the bar and post, had a couple disallowed, so it was nice to get off the mark.’

Ball adds that it had been a while since he last scored, but finding the net always brings with it a confidence boost so he’s raring to go now against newly promoted Newport County where he’s hoping he can build on the last game and at least find the net once more again.

He adds that the whole dressing room are buzzing following the win, especially as it was a relatively comfortable win in the end with a good high scoring return for us, and they’re all delighted to see us edge away from the bottom of the table, and he’s just pleased to have played his part in that, but with everybody high on confidence it should bode well for us as we head further into the season now.

Everybody certainly wants to build on two wins in eight, but an unbeaten run is now important for the club and Ball himself admits that if we can’t quite get the win, we have to make sure we pick up a point to get some consistency in results now.
