Torquay United and Shaun Cooper have come to a mutual agreement today to cancel the remainder of his contract so he can move on and find a new club.

Cooper joined us under manager Chris Hargreaves back in January, but then suffered a spate of niggly injuries that stopped him from making a single appearance for us in the second half of 2013-14.

At the end of last season, Cooper was placed on the transfer list by the gaffer as he looked to shake the squad up, but the decision has now been taken to allow him to move on as a free agent.

It’s a shame things never worked out as either party would’ve intended but sometimes in football this just happens, and the clean break can be the best for all involved.
