Charlton Athletic youngster Kadell Daniel has joined Torquay on a loan spell until the end of the season.

The versatile young winger has been a part of their Development Squad this season at The Valley and has played in the youth system of Crystal Palace previously and presumably he comes in as cover for the now departed Jordan Chapell.

He joins us yesterday and is in contention to make his debut in the game against Southport this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site today about the loan move, manager Chris Hargreaves said that the move was with an eye to potential summer recruits for the club and he looks towards next season now.

‘Kadell is someone who wants to get his career going and we hope we`re the platform for him to do that. He fits the bill because his contract is up at the end of the season, so the type of player we can get in now to have a look at. The perfect scenario for this sort of player is to earn himself a contract here. He is an exciting player, who predominantly plays on the right-hand side and can drift in on his left foot. It does fit the remit of what I want to do. For us to go forward, we need to look at this type of player because there was no point in bringing in aimless loan, it had to be with a view to something for the future.’
