Manager Paul Cox has added two more players to our ranks ahead of the 2015-16 kick off, and we have an update on Levi Ives.

The first player signed yesterday was former Macclesfield Town player Waide Fairhurst.

The 26 year old attacker scored ten times for Macclesfield last year, including the equaliser against us on home soil back in April.

Starting his career at Doncaster Rovers, he went on to play for Shrewsbury Town, Southend United and Cheltenham Town before making the move to Macclesfield in the summer of 2011.

Speaking to the Official Site after completing the signing the gaffer said.

‘This is an excellent signing for us. He has an excellent goalscoring record at this level and can play anywhere across the front-line or just behind the front-men. His work-rate is fantastic and he will be a real positive influence on those players around him.’

The second signing of the day was trialist and former Manchester United youngster Shepherd Murombedzi.

The 20 year old started at the Old Trafford academy before moving onto Reading where he made the step up into the under 21 camp. Capable of playing on either wing, his talent was on show for fans in the Galmpton United nine nil victory the other day where he hit a hattrick.

‘Shepherd is a player that I have been aware of for some time. He has come in and done really well in training and the game at Galmpton. This is a good addition to our squad; we have a player with bags of pace and power and an end product to his game. This lad has masses of potential and I am delighted to have him on board here.’

As for Ives, Director of Football Dean Edwards said of the situation with him.

‘There has been plenty of interest in Levi in recent weeks. We are hopeful that there will be a conclusion to the situation during the course of next week. Levi is an extremely talented lad and we must make sure that any deal is right for all parties concerned.’

Edwards went on to say that the situation was ongoing but if there wasn’t a conclusion next week he would expect the player to return to us for training and preparation for the new year.
