Former Crystal Palace player Bayan Fenwick has now signed a deal with the club and we have brought in Port Vale’s Nathan Smith on loan.

Beginning with Fenwick, he arrived after impressing in the Weymouth victory at the weekend and the match against Yeovil Town. The 21 year old versatile player has played for Eastbourne Borough and Lewes, and his performances there earned him a move to Crystal Palace in 2012.

The described set piece expert then made the move to Cardiff City, and Director of Football Dean Edwards said of his capture to the Official Site.

‘This is another good addition to the squad. He has an excellent pedigree from his time at Crystal Palace and we are delighted to bring him on board to help him develop and improve our squad. Paul Cox has been impressed by his range of passing and his attitude and now he is looking for him to really kick-on with us and show what he is capable of.’

Yesterday the club also completed a deal for talented Port Vale defender Smith.

The 19 year old penned his first professional deal at the club last summer and whilst he’s still to make his first team debut for them, they were sufficiently impressed with his development over 2014-15 that this summer he penned a new two year deal with them.

Paul Cox said of his capture for the next three months on loan.

‘Nathan is a player with a lot of potential. He is very highly rated by Port Vale, who see him as a big part of their future plans, and this deal suits all parties involved. He`s a determined and talented lad and a good all-round defender. We`re delighted to have him here and look forward to playing our part in his development.’
