Torquay have now confirmed the signing of defender Exodus Geohaghon and also confirmed the departures of Ryan Bowman and Levi Ives.

Beginning with experienced defender Geohaghon, it was known that he had been offered a deal by manager Paul Cox and he has today put pen to paper on a 12 month contract.

The 30 year old came through the youth ranks at West Bromwich Albion and has gone on to play for a number of sides like Sutton Coldfield Town, Bromsgrove Rovers, Redditch United and Kettering Town.

His performances earned him a move to the Championship with Peterborough United and he took in further loan spells with sides like Rotherham, Shrewsbury and Port Vale before he departed London Road on a permanent deal moving onto Barnet, Darlington, Dagenham and Redbridge and Kidderminster Harriers.

He knows Cox from a spell at Mansfield back in 2012-13 where he helped them return to the Football League so the gaffer knows what he’s getting.

He spent last year with Stourbridge and he comes in as a free agent.

As for the departures, 23 year old Ryan Bowman has now joined Gateshead for an undisclosed fee after expressing a desire to move back up North for family reasons.

He joined us last summer and the club wish him the best for the future.

Also heading out is youngster Levi Ives and his departure was expected.

Torquay have struck a mutually beneficial deal – as described – with a Championship club to sign him. Part of the deal is success based so Torquay will hopefully benefit in the future.

Whilst the club don’t name the Championship side, the press mention Ashton Gate so Bristol City.

He also leaves with the club’s best wishes.
