Manager Chris Hargreaves has said he felt the draw against Plymouth Argyle was a good result for us as we continue building towards the coming campaign.

It was a mix of good defending and then good attacking spells for Torquay in the match, and the gaffer told the Official Site that he was particularly pleased with our second half showing.

‘It was an entertaining draw and lots of things to take from the game. Credit to Plymouth in the first half, they were excellent and a tough 45 minutes for us. We had to concentrate on good shape and being rigid in defence, although we had a few chances on the break. We had a chat at half time and we were the team moving forward in the second half.’

Hargreaves goes on to say that in the second period we were the side on the front foot and pushing for the opener and he thought we looked very good indeed, picking out Luke Young for his showing against his former side, as well as our two wide players as they caused plenty of problems.

‘There were loads of positives and I’m really happy with the young boys.
