Torquay United have failed in their bid to get on loan Shamir Goodwin’s red card in the game against Newport County rescinded.

An appeal was lodged with the FA and their disciplinary commission met earlier this afternoon ahead of the game against York City, and despite the arguments and reasons put forward by the club, made the decision that the referee had called the situation right and that the red card should stand.

Goodwin will therefore miss the next three games, starting with the current game that’s underway against York, and will return to contention for our match against Bristol Rovers on April 12th.
