The Altrincham game was another chance for three points blown in the manager Chris Hargreaves opinion as he spoke at the full time whistle.

Speaking to the Official Site following the two one defeat, Hargreaves frustration was again evident as he knows we had the chances to have won the game, and we really should have gone ahead early on in the match through Duane Ofori-Acheampong, before they got their noses in front but it was another opportunity we spurned.

‘We created the chances to win the game but we weren’t ruthless enough in front of goal. Some of the chances fell to the wrong people at times and they has a striker who was cleverer than us on the day. Duane had one of those chances where you expect the net to ripple but he didn’t manage to get over it, and it would have been a goal to help us calm down.’

With Altrincham taking the two goal lead, before Louis Briscoe got us a consolation, the manager wasn’t happy with the defending for their opener either.

‘The first goal was a disappointing one to concede. Krystian Pearce has lost his man and Jordan Seabright got caught on his heels. It was a mistake and their first shot on target. Jordan had a bit of bad luck on the second goal and they reacted first.’

As for the consolation strike, Hargreaves said that Briscoe more than has that in ‘his locker’ because he’s a good player, but he has been suffered having had almost a year out of the game.

‘We worked him hard in pre season and used him sparingly, but it was still a very disappointing result.’
