Having only just arrived at Plainmoor, manager Chris Hargreaves has said that striker Enoch Showunmi is fitting in well with the lads and already proving himself an asset on the training pitch.

Speaking to the Official Site having now made his debut in the loss to Hartlepool and having had longer to train with his new colleagues, manager Chris Hargreaves had said he was delighted with what he’s seen so far.

‘He’s settled in really well and he gives us power and experience. He carries a goal threat and showed that in the first half at Hartlepool. He created some really good opportunities for other people and did exactly what it says on the tin for Enoch Showunmi.’

Hargreaves goes on to say that his main asset for us really is his style of play because he is a type of player we simply didn’t have on our books so he definitely brings us something different up front and should be an alternative option and asset to help bring out the best from the strikers and players we do have.

The closest to a physical presence is on loan Jayden Stockley and Hargreaves admits that given the Bournemouth man is still learning the trade himself, it’s a big ask to expect him and rely on him to play that role permanently for us, so now he has help which should alleviate some pressure and help him perform to his best as well.
