Manager Chris Hargreaves has spoken ahead of our game tomorrow against Lincoln, and he’s clearly looking for three points.

With three back to back draws now against Southport, Dartford and Aldershot, the gaffer hasn’t really made any secret of the fact that he believes the first two games of that threesome should’ve resulted in maximum points for us.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of what he expects will be a tough encounter against Lincoln he said it has to be a challenge we meet head on and come out with the points we want to start making up for those that we have dropped already in his eyes.

‘Lincoln are a solid side at this level and they’ve got some good players. The manager knows the league really well and he’s recruited very well over the last couple of years.’

Hargreaves goes on to say that like most teams at this level they will be well drilled, they will be fit, strong and athletic, but it’s down to us as the relegated Football League side to show that we are fitter, stronger and more athletic – and importantly far more clinical than we have been in games so far this season.

‘They are a strong side at home and we know it will be a tough game, but we need to start asserting ourselves. We are Torquay United, we have been a team in the League and we should be a formidable test for anybody.’

With that said, the gaffer also knows that because of that there is an element of teams raising their game when they face us, but again it’s then down to us to raise our game further.

The gaffer also spoke about Bournemouth loanee Josh Wakefield ahead of the game, saying.

‘He’s a very good footballer, he keeps the ball well and is very versatile. He’s someone I know and trust, Josh is waiting for his chance and that may come on Saturday.’

As for team news, Ryan Bowman serves the final game of his suspension for this clash, and Elliot Benyon is out with a hamstring problem.

Ashley Yeoman is 50/50 having injured his ribs and Ben Harding also has a hamstring problem.

Benyon and Harding, the gaffer says, are a few weeks away, but Yeoman is a pain management issue because of bruising so it really depends on how he feels on the day.
