Alan Knill has added Karl Hawley and Callum Ball to our squad ahead of the big kick off.

Experienced striker Hawley has signed a two year deal, whereas younger striker Ball has joined us for two month from Derby County.

Speaking to the Official Site after adding both players to our ranks, Knill explained.

‘I’ve signed Karl Hawley and Callum Ball, which gives us four strikers and I’m delighted to have them. I know Karl really well from when I had him at Scunthorpe and he has always scored goals. Karl is a proper man. When you grip his hand, it’s a proper handshake. He’s strong and powerful and I felt we needed a little bit of experience as well.’

Regarding Callum Ball, Knill says he was looking for a striker who offers something different from Benyon and Yeoman and when he found out Derby were willing to part with the player for a time, he jumped at the chance.

‘All of a sudden Callum has become available. I didn’t think we’d have a chance of signing him, but, fortunately for us Nigel Clough has allowed him to move. Callum is here on a youth loan and we will look at it again in October.’
