Assistant manager Lee Hodges has said that Torquay won’t be out for revenge when we face Forest Green Rovers at the weekend, we’ll simply be aiming to get all three points and the win.

Rovers beat us two one earlier in the season in the game that saw Courtney Richards sent off and manager Chris Hargreaves sent from the dug out, but speaking to the Official Site Hodges said nobody would be thinking of revenge because we have to be focused for another tough game.

‘Football is never about revenge, it’s just getting a good result against another decent team in this league. We felt we should have got something from the game at their place. It was very even on the night and looked like it was heading for a draw, but we suffered from the dismissal of Courtney Richards, which we all felt was harsh.’

Hodges goes on to say that obviously it’s always very difficult when you are down to ten men, especially if you want to try and push forward to get the win and for him it was the single telling factor on the night for the defeat, but we move on, we’ve prepared well and returning to Plainmoor the management staff are all wanting to see the team build on the win again Barnet.

Speaking a little more about the Barnet match, Hodges also had plenty of praise for debutant Durrell Berry.

‘Durrell did fantastically well for a player on his debut, he doesn’t really know the boys as yet but he came in, and looked like he’s been with us for a long time. We’re very fortunate to have picked up a really good player and a good lad as well.’
