Young defender Jake Hutchings becomes the latest person to leave Torquay as he has mutually terminated his contract today.

The centre back moved to us during Martin Ling’s time as manager, and he made terrific progress in our youth set up, signing his first professional deal aged 17.

He has struggled to kick on since then with the first team for varying reasons in the last few years though, and with him not being in manager Chris Hargreaves plans, the decision was taken to settle the contract and enable him to more easily continue his career and development at a new club this January.

The 19 year old leaves us having not made a first team appearance for the club, but all at Torquay wish him well.
