Manager Chris Hargreaves has said that Ryan Bowman is a big doubt ahead of the game against Altrincham this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, the manager revealed that the striker was suffering with a chest complaint so he would be assess late on to determine his possible involvement.

He also said that defender Angus MacDonald was struggling with a knee injury, but in general he was confident the team would pick up the result we wanted.

However a strong start will be required, and with him expecting a very tough encounter, he knows a slice of Lady Luck wouldn’t go amiss either.

‘We haven’t started many games badly but the ones where we have been slow out of the blocks have seen us come unstuck. We didn’t start well at Braintree and we need to be on the button on Saturday. In the most part we’ve started well, but we’ve just missing that piece of luck.’

With 16 games left, Hargreaves was also confident that our play off dream was alive, and the key ingredient in that is that the players believe we are capable of pushing up the table and achieving that aim.

‘We’ve still got a great chance of making the play offs and the players have to believe that as well. There is plenty of ability in the squad to do that. We just need to get some momentum and turn the draws into wins.’

He goes on to say that we are well in the mix, and it’s definitely possible and the sooner we start the easier it will be.
