Craig Easton is a Torquay target but his possible arrival would be viewed as an addition and not a replacement for others.

Eunan O’Kane looks destined to leave Plainmoor but as the 33-year-old is not a winger he would not be that direct replacement.

Another would be needed but even so Martin Ling, as he told the official website, would want him to compliment others and not replace them: ‘I’m chasing Craig Easton but I don’t see him as a replacement for Eunan. I’m looking for two centre midfielders if Eunan goes, and hopefully one will be Craig.

‘I see him more as a back-up to Damon Lathrope or a fighter with Damon. I always felt last year that when Damon was missing it made us worse because I had nobody capable of filling the role naturally.

‘Craig can do that, as well as playing the Lee Mansell or Eunan O’Kane role, but he would be here to bolster the midfield unit and not replace.’

Experience isn’t something that he lacks at all, so this could make him a worthwhile addition to the squad.

Would you like to see the midfielder arrive at Torquay though and do you think he will?
