Torquay’s fantastic start to the season continued with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night as they knocked out league one Bournemouth.

The league two pacesetters would have been the underdogs going to Bournemouth but they dug in to hold on for a 0-0 draw, despite being dominated by The Cherries, to force a shootout

Bevan was the Torquay hero, denying Bournemouth during the playing time and also saving a penalty from Pugh after Cumming (wide) and Bradbury (post) had also missed with Torquay winning the shootout 3-0.

Do you think Torquay deserved to win and book their place in round 2 – let us know by sharing your views with us below…
