Alan Knill has said he’s hoping to add at least five new faces to the squad before the window closes.

Following the additions of Dale Tonge and Elliot Benyon, Knill told the Official Site that he was still hoping to add five more players to the squad and he was focusing on forward options and another centre half.

‘We are well down the line with more signings and we’ll probably know more tomorrow and Monday. I’m possibly looking for two more strikers to add to Elliot and Yeoman. We’re also looking for a centre half and I spoke to one the other day, who came down here and we’re just waiting for an answer. The other area is a couple of wingers.’

Knill suggests that now that pre season have begun the power has somewhat shifted back to the clubs as unattached players get a little bit itchy about their futures, and whilst geography hasn’t been a problem so far, the issue is wages and players holding out for better deals that most likely won’t come.

Knill also adds that he’s surprised himself with how calm he has been this season, as last summer he’d have been frantic but he looks at the unattached list and he knows he still has more than good enough options.
