Following the release of the fixtures Alan Knill has talked about starting the season at home and finding out where we are in comparison to our opposition in the league.

Speaking to the Official Site with Torquay hosting Wimbledon on the opening day, our manager said.

‘It’s good to start with a home game but I always look at the fixture list and you just don’t now how difficult they will be, especially over the first few weeks of the season. Teams are finding their feet and you always find one team will scream off then run out of steam.’

Knill says he believes that you have to give players at least 10 games to find their feet and their form because panicking early contributes nothing, as the league is a marathon not a sprint.

As for his plans for us for the season he wants a steady start to the first half of the season, and then he’s hoping he can enjoy Christmas onwards with us being well placed to push on.
