Torquay United, upon receiving the written reasons for the FA Independent Regulatory Commissions’ decision to ban the player for ten games for allegedly biting Ollie Banks in the game against Chesterfield, have decided to launch an appeal.

There is no confirmation direct from the club on the official site that I can see, but the press are reporting that the club have not explained their grounds for appeal, although with Chesterfield not making a complaint and with video evidence said to be ‘sparse’ in terms of physically identifying any alleged bite, the club feel confident they can have the decision over turned.

Of course, with any potential appeal as far as away as four weeks, it means Joss Labadie remains in contention for our games until any such appeal and is therefore eligible for our game tomorrow night against Bury and presumably for the foreseeable future.

This will no doubt rumble on the background now for a bit, but the focus has to be our battle against relegation.
