Midfielder Joss Labadie has been charged with misconduct following allegations of biting during the game last month against Chesterfield.

The statement from the FA reads.

‘Torquay United’s Joss Labadie has been charged for misconduct in relation to his side’s game against Chesterfield. It is alleged that the player’s behaviour in or around the 49th minute of this fixture constituted violent conduct.’

With the charge now in place, Labadie has until 6pm tomorrow evening to respond.

Since joining us in January on a free transfer from Notts County following an earlier successful loan spell last season, the 23 year old has made seven appearances for the club and with our ongoing league problems, this is the last thing either the manager Chris Hargreaves or the team would’ve needed.

As fans may remember, the last time biting took the headlines was due to an encounter between Liverpool’s Luiz Suarez and Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, where Suarez was initially punished with a three match ban which was raised to ten matches.
