Goalkeeper Daniel Lavercombe has penned a two year professional deal at Plainmoor – despite currently having a trial at Liverpool.

The 19 year old local lad has now completed his scholarship at the club and we moved quickly to tie him down to a professional deal following his superb performances at youth team level that saw manager Chris Hargreaves call on him for first team duties as we closed out 2014-15.

Having made his debut in the game against Aldershot back in April, he ends this year having made five appearances for the club, and those appearances did get some notice from Liverpool who asked the other week if they could take him on a trial to assess him.

And that’s where he’s been for the last few days, before he hopefully returns to play his part next season as we bid for a more sustained push to return to League Two.
