Goalkeeper Michael Poke has suffered another complication in his battle to recover from a torn thigh muscle.

Our Number 1 has been out since the first week of pre season training, and has already attempted to achieve a comeback a number of times, but he’s a long way from first team action again now.

He’s currently undergoing ‘shockwave’ treatment, whatever that is, in an attempt to rectify the problem once and for us. The treatment should hopefully break down the scar tissue.

The injury was only a normal tear to his thigh muscle but it was a big one, and unfortunately every time it seems he’s fit enough to step up his training regime to regain his full fitness, it tears again and puts him back to square one.

Alan Knill told the Official Site that hopefully it wouldn’t be too long now before he can return to action but.

‘It has been a slow process and Michael is just as frustrated as everybody else, but we have to take our time because the last thing we want is to tear it again.’

Hopefully this isn’t going to turn into an issue that plagues him this season.
