Manager Chris Hargreaves has revealed that on loan Anthony O’Connor is nursing a shoulder complaint ahead of the game against Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

The Blackburn Rovers defender will no doubt undergo a fitness test some point during the morning to assess his overall availability, but he’s not the only knock or niggle we are carrying at the moment.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game Hargreaves explained that he did remain confident O’Connor would play his part in the game, but took solace in the knowledge that those out of the side were all champing at the bit to get pitch time to impress anyway.

‘Anthony has a sore shoulder and there are a few niggles, but we’ve got plenty of players to choose from and they all want to play.’

As for O’Connor specifically Hargreaves goes on to say that he feels his loan spell from Blackburn has been beneficial to all parties and really helped his development as a player immensely, and he has no doubts that in the future that he’ll play at the highest levels because he really does carry natural quality.

In terms of players definitely out for the game, the gaffer confirms that Billy Bodin remains out, Tom Cruise is seriously struggling, as is Shaun Cooper still, so we can expect to be without those three.
