Club physio Damian Davey has said that Michael Poke was substituted against Bradford because of illness, not an injury.

Speaking to the Western Morning News the staff member said of our goalkeeper.

‘Michael is resting at the moment, and he is very sore. We will have a much better idea of what his problem is after the results of the scans. He has no history of trauma, recently or in the past, and it may just be a general medical condition. He had a chest infection last week, and that may be affecting his muscles in some way.’

Following his substitution the goalkeeper was taken to hospital for MRI and ultrasound scans, and he was due to return for further testing to knuckle down what the issue could be.

Hopefully it’s just a touch of over exertion following his infection as opposed to anything more serious.
