Welsh youngster Billy Bodin is almost certainly out of the game against Portsmouth following the injury he sustained in the game against Burton.

An unfortunate collision five or so minutes before half time saw Bodin substituted, and granted Paul McCallum his debut after joining us from West Ham on loan.

However, Alan Knill told the Official Site that Bodin had been sent for a scan but the fear everyone at the club has is that he has most likely torn his cartilage and will face a long spell on the sidelines.

Torquay are already without Ben Harding with his foot injury, Aaron Downes with a knee injury although we can welcome back Krystian Pearce following his one match suspension.

‘Billy had a scan and we think he’s torn his cartilage, so it all depends on how good or bad the scan is before we know a timescale.’

It’s a case of fingers crossed really.

However in better news Knill said he hoped to have both Harding and Downes back in training and over their injury worries next week. Whether both will be ‘available’ for training or ‘available’ for the match squad will remain to be seen.
