Young and talented goalkeeper Jordan Seabright has left Torquay United having decided to focus on a career outside of football.

Having recently spoken to the club and expressed his desire to leave and try something new, manager Chris Hargreaves reluctantly accepted his resignation.

Speaking to the official site the gaffer explained.

‘It’s unusual but with someone like Jordan, who’s a bright lad and very switched on, he knows what he wants to do and he wants security. Football is a very hard industry and only the small percentage that get to the top will never have to worry about money. The rest do it because they love the game, it’s their dream and they can’t do anything else.’

Hargreaves goes on to say about Seabright that he’s a lovely lad and has been a good person to work with on the training pitch, but unfortunately he’s lost his appetite for football over the course of the season, and when that happens it’s best to move on and try something new, especially when you are his age in the game.

Since moving to us over the summer from Dagenham and Redbridge, he has made six appearances for us and Torquay wish him the best for his future.
