Manager Chris Hargreaves preparations for next season continue apace with six players offered new deals as they approach the end of their current contracts.

Goalkeepers Michael Poke and Martin Rice have both been offered new terms, as have midfielders Lee Mansell and Damon Lathrope. The final two are Ashley Yeoman, who has now signed his offer, and Niall Thompson.

With financial implications obviously playing a part now following our relegation to the Conference, Hargreaves told the Official Site that obviously the new deals offered were realistic in light of the finances, but he believes they were sensible enough offers to help him build a successful squad next season.

‘Lathrope has been offered a contract, as has Yeoman, Thompson, the two goalkeepers and Mansell. They have all been offered deals that reflect the changing financial status of our club and our new position in the football pyramid.’

Hargreaves goes on to say that we are only making offers that he feels are ‘realistic’ given what happened to us last season and he also says that fans can be assured we are ‘wiping the slate clean in terms of how we approach player contracts.’
