Torquay tasted defeat for the first time in the league this season as they lost 2-1 at Southend at the weekend.

Grant (15) gave Southend the lead with Simpson (43) adding a second for the hosts just before the half time break.

The in-form Zebroski (78) pulled one back for Torquay with time running out, although this proved nothing more than a consolation.
