Pre season is slowly starting to get better and better for manager Chris Hargreaves, as following on from our recent credible results, we took victory over Walsall in our last game.

Two first half goals from Ashley Yeoman and Ryan Bowman gave us the comfortable victory, although Walsall did make the score line a touch more respectable given their level with a goal one minute from full time.

The League 1 visitors were probably lucky that they were only two behind in the first period, because Torquay started very brightly indeed and could well have increased our advantage given the chances we created.

The first half was the highlight of the game though, with the second period not up to those standards as tiredness and substitutions interrupted our earlier flow, but non the less, Hargreaves would’ve delighted with what he saw again.
