Barnet slipped back into the League Two relegation zone following the rearranged meeting with fellow strugglers Torquay, who came out of the drop zone, on Tuesday night.

Elliot Benyon’s (25) header, coupled with a double save from Michael Poke, ensured that Torquay went into the half time break one-up.

When you turn to the substitutes bench you are looking for an impact and Jake Hyde (58) did just that as he scored with his first touch, having literally just come on, to draw Barnet level as the hour approached. The hosts were ahead again though within two-minutes when Billy Bodin (60) drove home.

Torquay moved closer to victory when Brian Saah (71) headed home the third, but The Bees left themselves with a chance when Hyde (77) volleyed home to score his, and Barnet’s second.

An equaliser couldn’t be found though with Torquay picking up a vital 3-2 win to move them out of the bottom two, moving Barnet into it!
