Torquay United have taken the step of cancelling the contract of young midfielder Nathan Craig after he made a request to return closer to home.

It was a frustrating season for the youngster, not least because of our relegation, but he also only made 14 appearances for the club and often found himself on the fringes of the team as we battled to try and turn our season around.

Having made most of his appearances in the first half of 2013-14, he only played for new manager at the time, Chris Hargreaves on three occasions following the turn of the year. One game in March against Newport, one game in April against Exeter and his final appearance as it will now become, in May against Wycombe.

He leaves us having made 36 starting appearances for the club, with a further ten from the bench, but the 22 year old did score his debut goal for us back in October 2012 in our league victory over Gillingham in his first season with us.
