Torquay in for Hatch?

Torquay’s lack of summer signings could be at an end. There have been various rumours this week about Paul Buckle’s various targets but the presence in training of Hatch, 19, is the first substance.

Hatch started his career at Exeter in their youth training scheme before being snapped up by Southampton at the tender age of 16. The two clubs couldn’t agree on the compensation fee so it went to tribunal. The result was Southampton paying £60 000 to the Grecians with the possibility of that rising to over £300 000.

At the same period another graduate from Exeter’s centre of excellence was Torquay’s very own Mark Ellis who Bolton had paid £90 000 for at tribunal.

Hatch could now be following Ellis, 20, back to Devon. More information on Jamie Hatch will appear here in time.
