Manager Chris Hargreaves has admitted that following on from Ashley Yeoman’s winner in the game on Easter Monday against Exeter City, he is definitely in his thoughts for a starting berth in the game this weekend against Mansfield Town.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Hargreaves said that he hadn’t yet decided on what the team would be for this weekend, but he knows a number of players have staked their claim for a start, and Yeoman is amongst that group.

‘Certainly, Ash coming in and scoring such an important goal is one. He’s got a really good attitude, a really nice lad and the sort of player you want to work with.’

Hargreaves goes on to say that he has been thinking of playing him more, but there have obviously been times when he’s come off the bench and it hasn’t quite clicked for him, but he knows what the goal has done for his confidence as he can see it in training, so it’s a definitely possibility that he might get the nod.

With that said the gaffer admits there is still plenty for him to work on his game, and he wants him to become a more ‘all round’ footballer because he can already hold the ball up and he’s a good finisher, and the more he can add to his game the better a player he will become.
