Jordan Chappell and loan extensions are the subject of media talk at the moment.

Manager Alan Knill has praised winger Jordan Chappell for his goal touch following the game against Portsmouth.

Chappell fonud the net within the first 60 seconds of last weekend’s game, and whilst it’s expected that wingers now do far more than simply provide crosses, they need to score goals as well in today’s game, the manager told the Official Site that he was thoroughly delighted to see Chaps pick up his fifth goal of the season already and he’s been pleased with his overall form and contribution.

‘It’s fantastic to have a winger scoring goals and we set a target with Jordan and he’s well on the way to achieving it.’

Knill says that if wide players want to develop in the game, they need to add a goalscoring touch to their performances and he feels that Chappell is providing the perfect inspiration for other players at the club in terms of the levels they have to reach if they want to be first team regulars.

‘His overall play is getting better but, every now and then, we have to rest him because he’s high energy all the time. His contribution of five goals is fantastic for the team.’

As for loanees doing a job in the first team at the moment the club have also announced that the extended loan spell of Charlton Athletic’s Ade Azeez has now been agreed by all parties and he will remain with us until November 30th.

Filling in at both striker and in a more wide role, since joining us back in late September, he has gone on to make five starts with one appearances from the bench, and he’s scored twice.

His first goal for the club came from that debut substitute appearances against Newport County back on September 28th.

Blackburn Rovers defender Anthony O’Connor has also received permission from his parent club to remain with us for a further month.

Knill has been very impressed with the young Irishman since he joined to help cover following injuries, so he’s absolutely delighted to have secured both players.

Like Azeez, O’Connor will now remain with us until November 30th and both players have also been given permission to play in the first round of the FA Cup when we host Rochdale next weekend.

O’Connor has so far made four starts for the club since he joined us on October 1st.
