Torquay have never played at the Victoria Stadium before, the two teams missing each other as Torquay were relegated when the Daggers entered the league two years ago.

I’m expecting a close game, it’s a bit of an unknown quantity as both these teams have made changes to their squad in the summer and at this stage in the season it is hard to judge on one performance.

Dagenham and Redbridge did win in their opening game of the season away at Crewe last weekend and so will have confidence as will the Gulls.

With both teams losing on the road on Tuesday night in the Carling cup their is really not much to choose between the sides.

I’m expecting the quality of football to be quite high because each side have tried out new players this week against Championship teams and have faired quite well.

Dag ‘n’ Red Team News:

The team which played against Cardiff on Tuesday will be unchanged for the weekend.

Jon Nurse will drop from the squad however as he is not quite match fit.

Player to watch: Josh Scott

He scored on his debut for Dagenham against Cardiff on Tuesday and after having been picked for the squad for the Torquay match will be full of confidence.

Torquay United Team News:

Paul Buckle has insisted this week that he will stick with Tim Sills and Scott Rendell up front after last weeks win.
Both players have now scored, Rendell in the league and Sills in the Carling cup.

Hargreaves and Mansell are still doubtful in terms of fitness. Robertson may start as right-back in Mansell’s absence as he had a good game last Saturday.

Charnock will push for a start, he played very well on Tuesday night.

Tyrone Thompson may feature if Hargreaves isn’t fit in time.

Player to watch: Kieran Charnock

He missed out on the opening game of the season and there is a lot of competition for places in defense. He did well against Palace and would love to cement his spot in the back four.
