Torquay United are agreeing terms with Kettering over the purchase of central defender guy Branston. Branston, who has played for 15 teams in his 11 year career, has played in Devon before, at Plymouth during 1998/99. Now he is close to signing for Torquay United. The Gulls are near to agreeing a fee for the 30-year-old with Kettering.
Kettering boss, Mark Cooper told the BBC, ‘Guy’s in talks with Torquay and the club are in talks with Torquay. ‘If they match our valuation, which I don’t think is far away, then he’ll become a Torquay United player.’ He added: ‘It’ll be a big loss for us but things move on and that’s football.’
He would become the Gulls’ second signing after ex-Swindon striker ben Joyce on Friday.
Paul Buckle has previously said that he was tracking two or three players to sign in the summer. The squad for next year could therefore be nearly complete.

Typical. Another player that could have signed, but didnt and Burton get him on a free. Stupid Kettering not registering the player’s contract properly.
